British Lottery Player Wins £56m On Euromillions

A British player last night won £56 million on the Euromillions Lottery, the biggest ever lotto prize won in the UK.
The ticketholder shared the £113 million pan European jackpot with another player in Spain who also picked the correct numbers.
A National Lottery spokesman said: ”Subject to validation the prize could be paid out when the banks are open on Monday.”
This jackpot is short of breaking the European record set by a single ticket on the Italian SuperEnalotto game which banked £128.3 million on August 22 last year.
Nine countries currently play EuroMillions. They are the UK, France, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, Portugal and Switzerland.
