90 Lashes, 2 Months Jail For Girl Aged 13 Who Took Mobile To School

A 13-year-old Saudi schoolgirl is to be given 90 lashes in front of her classmates after she was caught with a mobile camera phone and assaulting the school headmistress.

She was also sentenced to two months in jail by a court in the eastern city of Jubail.

Mobile phones are banned in girl schools in Saudi Arabia.

Is the punishment a little harsh or will it teach her a lesson in life and warn others that if you break the law, you will be severely punished?
