200 Mecca Mosques Facing The WRONG Way

Up to 200 mosques in Mecca may be facing the wrong way for prayers, it has been revealed.

The problem was first noticed by sharp-eyed observers standing at the top of some of the Saudi Arabian city’s newest high-rises.

All mosques have an indicator known as the qibla inside that points the way to Islam’s holiest site – the Kabaa in Mecca.

Muslims align their prayer mats and pray in facing the Kabaa.

But observers looking down on the mosques – some of which are over 50 years old – noticed they were pointing in the wrong direction.

Many are now fearful the prayers they have offered up in Meccan mosques all their lives have been affected.

But Saudi Arabian officials downplayed that fear.

‘There are no major errors, but corrections have been made for some old mosques, thanks to modern techniques.’

Officials may begin using lasers to avoid such mistakes in the future.
