Newlyweds Marli van der Walt and her new husband Hoffman gathered their family and friends at a South African beauty spot for a photo of their big day.

One moment the wedding party were laughing and joking as they said ‘cheese’ for the photographer, the next they were splashing around in a muddy lake.

These priceless pictures show the moment a wooden decking they were posing on gave way plunging the party of 80 into the water below.
